More and more employers are seeing requests for employees to work outside of their ‘base’ jurisdiction. Whilst modern technology may make this logistically simple, the wider implications can be anything but - from immigration, to tax and social security liabilities, to HR and labour law considerations. In the absence of the planning that would typically accompany a formal assignment, this can give rise to significant risk.
