The law brings together nine pieces of equality legislation and harmonises the basis on which discrimination claims are brought on different grounds.
The guides are published by the Government Equalities Office (GEO) and were produced with the help of the British Chambers of Commerce, Citizens Advice, ACAS and the Equality and Diversity Forum, the GEO said.
They provide separate guidance for employers, carers, people with disabilities, the general public, voluntary and community organisations and the public sector.
Non-government agency the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has also published guidance to the new law, offering advice to employers, workers, companies providing services and people using services.
