Francis Kenny of Castlerea admitted putting rival Castlerea sandwich seller Maureen Walker’s details on the web site which led to her receiving over 100 calls over a two day period in response to an advert that said she was willing to perform various sexual acts. Mr Kenny had been charged under Ireland’s Defamation Act of 1961 and convicted at Castlebar Circuit Court sitting in Westport.
Mrs Walker agreed to accept an undisclosed payment from Mr Kenny “in excess of the IR£10,000” he had offered her at a previous hearing.
