Dragonball, the top-ranked search term, is a Japanese animation; but a notable omission is the word "sex." It is said to be the internet's most popular search term; but both Google and Lycos omitted this and anything else deemed offensive from their family-friendly results.
Google compiled its "2002 Year-End Zeitgeist" in a number of categories – athletes (David Beckham at number one), gaining categories (Spiderman), declining categories (Nostradamus), top men (Eminem), top women (Jennifer Lopez), brands (Ferrari), technology (MP3).
