Taylor Power

Managing Senior Associate

Taylor specialises in the consenting of major energy and infrastructure projects, including solar, water and carbon-capture infrastructure. She works from inception to delivery across a range of regulatory frameworks to ensure such projects are consentable, fundable and deliverable.

Taylor has considerable experience on the consenting of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects, from advising on early site selection and optioneering through Examination and post consent implementation. She specialises primarily in the consenting of nationally significant infrastructure projects under the Planning Act 2008, but is also experienced in obtaining wider permissions, consenting and compulsory purchase rights including under the Town and Country Planning Act, the Electricity Act, and equivalent processes under Welsh and Scottish law.

Taylor works closely with project and technical consultant teams to develop applications and navigate planning processes, including leading advocacy through DCO Examinations. She provides strategic advice on engagement with stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

Prior to moving to the UK, Taylor advised on consenting and environmental regulatory compliance for Auckland International Airport, rail operators and New Zealand's largest waste management company. An experienced litigator, she regularly appeared in front of New Zealand planning committees and the Environment Court.
