Pinsent Masons achieves Bronze Diversity Mark

09 Jun 2022 | 08:46 am | 1 min. read

Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has been awarded the Bronze Diversity Mark from Diversity Mark NI for the firm’s commitment to Diversity and Inclusion.

The award was achieved, following an independent panel assessment in recognition of the firm’s efforts to sustain a diverse and representative workplace in Northern Ireland. The Diversity Mark accreditation is awarded to companies following an assessment process which ensures they have reached the required standard of commitment to advancing Diversity & Inclusion.

In recent years Pinsent Masons has unveiled a number of diversity and inclusion (D&I) initiatives such as establishing a Global Inclusion Steering Group which monitors gender balance at senior roles across the firm and provides overarching leadership of all of the firm’s D&I programmes and network groups.

Belfast office head at Pinsent Masons, Andrea McIlroy-Rose, said: “We are proud to have achieved a Bronze Diversity Award. To be recognised for the hard work and initiatives we have implemented, not just in Northern Ireland, but across our global footprint demonstrates that we are committed to achieving genuine change and making business work better for people.”

Over the last decade the firm has implemented a number of measures designed to create a level playing field for career development and progression for its entire workforce including mentoring, training and reshaping working practices and policies. Earlier this year the firm launched its Global Family Leave Policy which supports elevated family leave for all parents regardless of gender. Last year the Global Carers Policy was implemented to afford additional annual leave for individuals with caring responsibilities.

Interim Head of Business at Diversity Mark NI, Nuala Murphy, said: “Pinsent Masons recent award for the Bronze Diversity Mark Accreditation highlights their commitment and innovation to addressing the identified barriers to achieving gender balance across the organisation. Congratulations to all the team on this achievement. We look forward to seeing their plans roll out and further progress against targets on their diversity and inclusion journey.”
