Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has advised Bluefield Solar Income Fund on its acquisition of a portfolio of wind turbines from Arena Capital Partners Limited.
The 109 turbines are spread across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales and represent Bluefield’s first investment in non-solar assets, building on the company’s existing portfolio across energy generation.
Bluefield Solar is a London Stock Exchange listed investment fund focused on the acquisition and management of low carbon assets in the United Kingdom.
Pinsent Masons advised on the legal due diligence and transaction support across the entire portfolio.
The Pinsent Masons team was led by partner Richard Murphy and made up of colleagues across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland including Cora McLoughlin, James Todd,
Michael Hamill, David Ross and Peter Morley.
Richard Murphy said, “Sustainable investing has become one of the most important shifts in the investment industry in recent years. Clean energy projects have an important role to play in investors’ portfolios, where growing interest has coincided with strong returns. This transaction is a perfect example of how increased investor confidence is leading to greater diversified client energy portfolios.”
