International law firm Pinsent Masons has advised GMPVC German Media Pool GmbH, Germany's leading independent media-for-equity investor, on the financing round of 39 million euros in FRIDAY Insurance S.A. alongside SevenVentures.
In addition to GMPVC, SevenVentures, the investment arm of ProSiebenSat1. Media SE, also participated. Baloise Group, a Swiss insurance group which is the founder and majority shareholder of FRIDAY, is also investing 75 million euros. The investment round will stimulate future growth and support further product development.
German Media Pool brings together FRIDAY media companies across television, radio, out-of-home and print. SevenVentures enables FRIDAY to publicize its products in the ProSiebenSat.1 Group's advertising environments, which have a far reach and are targeted at specific groups.
GMPVC's investment focus is primarily on consumer companies with a fully-developed product portfolio, which use media services to increase sales and establish their distinctiveness through branding. The portfolio of German Media Pool includes startups such as ABOUT YOU, momox, Home24, Alphapet, Marley Spoon, LemonSwan and URBANARA.
