Pinsent Masons and Central Saint Martins unveil new exhibition celebrating emerging artists

Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons, in collaboration with the world-renowned art and design college Central Saint Martins (CSM), University of the Arts London has announced the winner of its inaugural Prize celebrating emerging creative talent at an exhibition at its London headquarters, Crown Place.

This year’s prize has been awarded to Farwa Tahir, a graduating MA Fine Art student whose work explores memory, migration, and material legacy through a powerful multi-sensory installation. Her work, Nani ka dupatta – remnants of a separation, centres on a delicate, heirloom fabric passed down through generations of South Asian women, offering a poignant meditation on cultural identity and inherited memory.

The exhibition marks the beginning of a three-year partnership between Pinsent Masons and Central Saint Martins, designed to champion creativity, innovation, and emerging voices in the arts. The initiative provides a professional platform for postgraduate artists to exhibit their work within a global business environment, reflecting a shared belief that creative thinking drives progress in both art and industry.

In addition to a £2,000 prize, the award offers shortlisted artists the opportunity to showcase their work at Pinsent Masons’ London office. This year’s exhibition features a compelling selection of works by four other talented graduates: Checo Mogo, Bethany Kohrt, Julian Udine and Karen Daye-Hutchinson. Their pieces -ranging from graphite drawings to paper pulp sculptures- demonstrate a shared sensitivity to materiality and poetic expression.

“At Pinsent Masons, we believe creativity and innovation are essential to shaping a better future,” said Kevin Boa, Partner at Pinsent Masons. “This partnership reflects our commitment to supporting emerging talent and fostering meaningful connections between business and the arts. We’re proud to sponsor the Pinsent Masons x CSM Prize and to help platform the next generation of creative thinkers.”

The selected artists represent a cross-section of CSM’s postgraduate courses, including MA Fine Art, MA Art & Science, MA Contemporary Photography, and MA Fine Art Digital. Their work was chosen by members of the Pinsent Masons Art Society in collaboration with CSM’s academic staff.

On the partnership, Alex Schady, Art Programme Director, Central Saint Martins said: “It is tremendously exciting to be showcasing the work of CSM postgraduate Art Programme graduates as part of the new Pinsent Masons x CSM Prize. The award celebrates innovation, critical engagement, and artistic excellence, providing an important platform for emerging artists at a pivotal moment in their careers.

We are especially grateful to Pinsent Masons for their unequivocal commitment to supporting experimental and challenging work.
