Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has appointed Partner Gayle Ditchburn as its new Birmingham office head.
Gayle joined Pinsent Masons in 2007 and was promoted to partner in 2015. A leading commercial lawyer specialising in the education sector, she advises universities, higher and further education institutions, private education providers and banks lending to the sector.
Having played a major role in developing the firm’s global education capabilities she is also an established local lawyer advising the universities in the West Midlands on a wide range of complex and innovative projects.
Commenting on her appointment, Gayle said: “I’m excited about leading our Birmingham office, supporting our local West Midlands and multinational clients and enabling all of our people to play an important role in advancing our strategy as a professional services business with law at its core.
“The West Midlands has seen significant growth in recent years with businesses across our real estate, energy, infrastructure, technology, science and industry and financial services sectors developing rapidly. I look forward to supporting our people on the opportunities this presents for Pinsent Masons."
Gayle, who takes up her post as of 1st March, succeeds Greg Lowson who is retiring following a 32-year career at Pinsent Masons. Having joined Pinsent & Co as its first lateral partner hire in 1991, he held the Birmingham Head of Office role for 21 years.
