Pinsent Masons wins 'Best Legal Advisor' Award

10 Jun 2014 | 01:40 pm | 1 min. read

International law firm Pinsent Masons’ work on a range of multi-million pound global infrastructure projects has been recognised at the 2014 Partnership Awards.

The judging panel said: "Pinsent Masons was at the forefront of the PPP industry across the globe, advising on not only some of the largest deals of the year, but also some of the most novel and interesting".

"Among the ‘firsts’ that the Firm was involved with was the launch of the first unwrapped listed bond issue in the UK project finance space since before the financial crisis. The team is also working on the first hospital project to be delivered through the UK’s new PF2 model and has worked on a number of projects outside the UK, such as the Zagreb Airport PPP - the first PPP in Croatia since the country became part of the European Union."

The judges were impressed with the Firm’s radical approach to the whole way in which legal services are delivered in this sphere, citing as an example, its appointment as a sole adviser to global infrastructure giant Balfour Beatty for a broad range of legal services.

The Partnership Awards recognises those who excel in delivering innovation and quality to infrastructure projects around the world.

Michael Watson, Global Head of Projects at Pinsent Masons, said: "It is a fantastic achievement and acknowledges the hard work of all in the Firm in leading innovation in the way legal services are delivered in a fast-changing business environment. We have a strong team of experts and plan to deliver effective legal services to our clients across the full spectrum of deals in the infrastructure market."
