How VarioAdvance is strengthening our Vario Hub and adding value to clients

At Vario Flexible Services, our ambition has always been clear: to offer consultants the freedom and variety of flexible work without sacrificing the depth, support and professionalism that comes from being part of a global law firm. It’s this blend of independence and belonging that sets our community apart — and it’s a theme at the heart of VarioAdvance, our growing training and development platform designed exclusively for our consultants.

We re-launched VarioAdvance in June 2025 as a new and improved bespoke online learning management platform. It provides consultants on assignment with access to a wealth of online training sessions, podcasts and webinars, but crucially, enables us to build bespoke client-led training plans to further equip candidates for success on assignment.

As our network expands across regions, skill sets and working patterns, we know that access to high quality, relevant training is essential. Through VarioAdvance, we’ve been building a framework that can grow quickly and meaningfully — one informed by consultant feedback, fuelled by Pinsent Mason’s knowledge and ultimately adding value to our clients.

Lawyer development is crucial and can be difficult to maintain in isolation, pairing access to VarioAdvance for consultants who are currently on assignment with our ongoing schedule of technical and personal development webinars (topics this year include AI in legal service delivery, international transfers of data, writing for business, execution of documents and an introduction to executive coaching, among others.), consultants on the Vario Hub can access the tools to thrive on assignment, grow their confidence and maintain the high standards our clients expect.

Often, training can be an important piece of governance in an organisation, and that is certainly the case for VarioAdvance which offers sessions on Anti-Bribery, Cyber Security and Tax Evasion. More recently we have responded to the changes in the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2024. As part of this, Vario consultants are required to complete the ‘Workplace Harassment Identification’ training, reinforcing our commitment to maintaining safe, respectful and compliant workplaces.

This training isn’t a box ticking exercise. It ensures every consultant has the knowledge and clarity they need to operate confidently in client environments, meet legal obligations, and help us continue delivering the kind of professional, trusted service Vario is known for.

Ultimately, being a part of Pinsent Masons offers something more than a cultural connection and brand: it allows us to offer learning, infrastructure and relationships that benefit consultants and clients alike.
