Speakers to include Sir John Vickers, John Cridland CBE, Martin Jacques and Paul Pindar Pinsent Masons has launched its annual business lecture series for 2013, which will feature four speakers each internationally recognised as leaders in their field.

Sir John Vickers, Paul Pindar, John Cridland CBE and Martin Jacques will explore the most important issues for business leaders to consider in 2013.

  • On Tuesday 26 February, Martin Jacques, economist, broadcaster and author of the global bestseller,  ‘When China Rules the World’, will consider China’s ascendancy and impact on world affairs, suggesting that it will be as much political and cultural as economic, transforming the world as we know it.

  • Sir John Vickers is the former head of Independent Commission on Banking, set up to review the banking sector after the financial crisis. The Commission's Vickers Report, published in September 2011, outlined recommendations including a ring-fence for UK banks. Having given oral evidence to the Parliamentary Commission on Banking at the start of the year, Sir John will provide latest insight and progress of banking reform to date, on Tuesday 12 March.

  • Paul Pindar, chief executive of Capita PLC, one of the UK's leading business process outsourcing firms, will outline how essential sourcing is to the recovery of the UK financial landscape on Tuesday 23 April.

  • The final lecture on Tuesday 21 May will feature John Cridland CBE. As Director General of the CBI John is the key spokesman for the business community in the media, on public platforms and with government. John leads the CBI – the voice of business – in the UK and represents the organisation internationally. John will set out his views on how vital it is that the UK adopts an industrial strategy for global success.

David Isaac CBE, Partner and Head of Advanced Manufacturing and Technology at Pinsent Masons said: “Our lecture series annually focuses on the most important issues from across the business world, and we are delighted that in 2013 we have secured such notable speakers. We have no doubt the lectures will provide invaluable insight for attendees, and that the issues raised will prompt further thinking and discussion.”

All lectures will be held at Pinsent Masons’ London headquarters, at 30 Crown Place, London EC2A 4ES. Registration is from 4.30pm for a 5.00pm start, and will finish by 6.00pm. Each lecture will be followed by a Q&A and a networking session.
