Pinsent Masons Australia storms into Legal Innovation Index 2016

International law firm Pinsent Masons has once again been recognised for its innovation in legal services, winning a place on the Janders Dean & Lexis Nexis Legal Innovation Index 2016.

After only a year since opening its doors in Sydney & Melbourne, Pinsent Masons has secured a spot on the Index which celebrates the most innovative firms and legal teams in Australia and New Zealand.

Pioneering a unique blend of legal expertise and technology, the firm has been commended for Cerico, its cloud-based compliance solutions business, and TermFrame, an AI application forming part of a matter management system developed by Pinsent Masons, which impressed a prestigious panel of judges.

Cerico is a technology driven solution that automates compliance processes for businesses in a quick, cost-efficient and auditable way. By wrapping technology and process around Pinsent Masons' compliance knowledge, Cerico helps companies implement and monitor regulatory compliance programmes.

Having brought in a team of computer scientists and legal engineers to develop an artificial intelligence application which could be seamlessly interwoven with the firms' legal knowhow, Pinsent Masons has integrated TermFrame as part of a matter management system which makes it straightforward to model legal scenarios and automatically pull in discrete parts of the firm's legal knowledge, for swifter and more consistent outcomes for both the client and lawyer.

David Rennick, Head of the Australia is delighted with the achievement: "The firm has a track-record of delivering innovation to the market – it's part of the DNA of the business. Understanding what your client needs and responding to it in a way that works for them as well as you is fundamental. It's this collaborative and innovative approach that underpins our presence in Australia, we developed a commercial proposition that would allow Pinsent Masons to bring something truly unique to the Australian market."

Joanne Beckett, Managing Director of LexisNexis Australia said: "To see the industry set aside competition and work together for the benefit of the client is very innovative for this sector and a sign that the 'age of the client' has come to the fore in Australia".

The accreditation follows Pinsent Masons being named most innovative law firm in Europe and ranked among the top ten most innovative internationally headquartered firms in Asia by the Financial Times. Find out more about what we're up to here: http://www.innovative.legal/
