Liam is a senior associate in the pensions and long-term savings group. He advises a wide range of clients, including specialist pension service providers, trustee boards and employers (including government bodies) on a variety of pension related issues, on both a strategic and day to day basis. This includes advising about benefit changes and scheme governance, defending service providers from professional negligence claims, representative beneficiaries on court sanctioned compromises, funding and debt issues and the pension aspects of sales, acquisitions and other corporate changes. Liam also has a particular specialism in advising on the pension aspects (TUPE Plus and Fair Deal) of outsourcing transactions for both local authorities and private contractor clients. This has included advising on defence, street lighting, social housing, waste and schools projects. Liam is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers and chair of the North West Society of Pension Professionals.
