Building safety – the transition phase
This session will discuss the Building Safety Bill which will be enacted in April or early May 2022.
The Building Safety Bill is being revised to address important questions raised by Parliament and stakeholders during pre-legislative scrutiny. We will explain the key issues during the transition to this new legislation coming into force, including:
- Preparing existing buildings, including building a safety case and remediation of historic safety issues;
- Procurement models and contractual issues for new developments; and
- Industry competence, leadership and cultural change.
