Digital planning: Artificial intelligence - uses, issues and mitigating risk

Our second session in the series will focus on Artificial Intelligence considering the uses of AI, potential issues and what we can do to mitigate risk. We will also discuss how new technology challenges some long-established norms of decision making and what we can all do to avoid ethical minefields.

This time we’re focussing on Artificial Intelligence, beginning with a presentation by Urban Intelligence and Hounslow Council on how they are digitising their “call for sites” as part of their local plan evidence base. They will then explain how AI could be used as the next step to improve the outcomes for all stakeholders in this process.

Charlie Banner QC and Sue Chadwick, our digital planning specialist will discuss how this new technology challenges some long-established norms of decision making, and Lara Groves from the Ada Lovelace Institute will cover key things that we can all do to avoid ethical minefields.
