Effective management of online bullying and harassment of students

Building on the success of our annual Universities conference, this series will provide insight and commentary on hot topics impacting the sector in 2021.  This session provides an overview of the risks to students of a greater exposure to online harassment and bullying.

This session provides an overview of the risks to students of a greater exposure to online harassment and bullying. This is due to the explosion in digital interactions amongst students and also the acceleration of online learning caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

We look at how the sector is currently developing, and specifically how and why the university sector is particularly vulnerable. We will look at how universities may best respond to the risks of harassment and bullying of students online (including from a regulatory perspective), and the steps that they can take now to ensure that they are ready to meet their duty to safeguard their students both during the continuing pandemic and in a post Covid world.
