FCA and PRA Consultations - What they are and how they will impact you

The FCA and PRA published their consultation papers on diversity and inclusion (“D&I”) on 25 September 2023. They propose wide-ranging reforms on D&I, including requiring some firms to:

• not only publish diversity targets, but explain why such targets have been chosen
• provide the FCA with data on certain diversity characteristics and inclusion measures on an annual basis, and
• publish their D&I strategies.

This is in addition to making changes to the FCA’s handbook around non-financial misconduct, which will impact most regulated firms. Many of the proposals will require significant work by firms to ensure compliance if these changes are implemented.

We will also discuss some of the steps that firms may want to consider putting in place now in order to be well placed to adapt to these significant changes.
