An employee is seriously injured after being struck by a telehandler on a construction site resulting in serious injuries. This leaves the Principal Contractor facing prosecution under Section 2 HSWA 1974 in its capacity as the injured person’s employer and the potential for a substantial fine.
Drawing on themes and issues that can impact upon organisations across all sectors, the session will be enlightening and compelling mock trial.
The event provides Health & Safety professionals, GCs, Heads of Legal and in-house lawyers the opportunity to participate in the mock trial. Being part of the jury and must decide whether to convict or acquit the defendant.
With the best will in the world, sometimes things go wrong, and it is important that you and your workforce are well prepared and in the best possible position to protect the company’s interests if a serious health and safety incident occurs.
Following the conclusion of the mock trial there will be an opportunity for questions around the topics arising from the proceedings.
