While all democratic societies recognise the right to peaceful protests, some protestors do go too far and protest illegally.

An illegal protest may breach the criminal and/or the civil law. Where the criminal law is breached, protestors run the risk of being fined or even imprisoned. Where the civil law is breached, parties affected may seek the protection of the courts by way of injunction (interdict).

In recent months there have been various instances in the UK of protestors (especially environmental protestors) acting outside the law.

This webinar will cover the key issues involved where illegal protest occurs.
