"The proposal is to refurbish the building to complement the existing design and its surroundings" said the scheme's architects, Aukett Fitzroy Robinson, in the Design and Access Statement.
Although the consented scheme makes "little change to the scale of the existing building" it does provide refurbishment owing to the fact that "many of the buildings components are at the end of their design life and need upgrading to ensure that the building continues to perform as a high quality office" according to the Design and Access Statement.
"Extensive re-modelling of the building and the new designs by Aukett Fitzroy Robinson will yield two stunning new penthouse floors with terraces that will provide unrivalled outlooks over Berkeley Square" said PRUPIM Director of Development, David Morris, quoted on PropertyMall.com.
30 Berkeley Square is an office building forming part of PRUPIM's portfolio and is identified as a "key property". It is leased to GE Capital Europe Limited.
