A new on-line venture called e-JAMS is being launched in the US to offer international dispute resolution services for disputes that arise from business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce transactions.

“We believe that many disputes that arise in e-commerce transactions will be resolved through a combination of on-line text, voice and video communication, as well as personal contact,” said Steve Price, CEO of JAMS, one of two companies behind the project. “We have assembled a panel of neutrals that is skilled at using our technology and has the mediation and arbitration experience to resolve on-line B2B disputes quickly, fairly and effectively using on-line mechanisms.”

Jeff Baker, the CEO of the other company in the venture, Poorman-Douglas, added:

“We know how to collect, organise and disseminate data electronically and we have had a great deal of experience in handling and facilitating communication nationally and internationally in more than 20 languages. We are confident that e-JAMS will provide a new, high level of service to all parties involved in e-commerce B2B disputes.”
