Crossrail and its development partner Grosvenor have submitted plans to Westminster City Council for a 65,000 square feet office development to be located over the western ticket hall for Crossrail's Bond Street station in London's Mayfair.

The scheme, which will have an entrance lobby at 65 Davies Street, will comprise six floors of office space above the station and will be delivered by Grosvenor once the Crossrail station and ticket hall works are completed in 2017.

Crossrail said in a statement that the scheme, which has been designed by architect PLP Architecture, had been designed to be "sensitive to the traditional architecture of the neighbouring Mayfair buildings".

“65 Davies Street is part of a significant office pipeline for Grosvenor in Mayfair that reflects our commitment to the office sector in the area and the continued strength of the sector generally," said Grovenor's London estate development director Ian Morrison.

"We are working closely with Crossrail’s team and PLP Architecture to design a striking and contemporary new building that responds to customer needs, complements and enhances the urban form of Mayfair and delivers excellent sustainability credentials,” he said.

“Crossrail will boost the West End’s position as a thriving cultural and retail destination and the new commercial space at Davies Street will further enhance the wider Oxford Street area," said Crossrail's land and property director Ian Lindsay.

"Sites above Crossrail stations, including Bond Street, are being developed with public spaces around stations improved to ensure we take full advantage of the huge redevelopment opportunities Crossrail is bringing to London,” he said.

Crossrail has already been granted approval for a 300,000 sq ft retail, commercial and residential development to be located above the eastern ticket hall at Hanover Square. The scheme will be delivered by Great Portland Estates.
