Brookfield and Concord Pacific enter joint venture for 50-storey EC2 tower

Developers Brookfield Office Properties and Concord Pacific Group have formed a joint venture to develop a residential tower as part of a mixed-use scheme at Principal Place in London's Shoreditch.

The 50-storey tower will provide 243 flats over around 200,000 square feet. Under the terms of the joint venture, Brookfield will be responsible for the development and project management work and Concord Pacific will be in charge of sales and marketing activities with support from property developer W1 Developments.

The scheme will also deliver a 15-storey office building, which is not included in the joint venture and remains fully owned by Brookfield.

Brookfield bought the development site from developer Hammerson last year. The scheme, previously known as Bishops Place, was granted planning permission by Hackney Council in 2011.

"This new joint venture partnership makes sound commercial sense, combining Brookfield Office Properties’ experience of managing the design and development of large tower projects with Concord Pacific’s strong track record in the residential market," said Brookfield's European commercial operations president and chief operating officer Martin Jepson in a statement.
