Electronic Arts is facing legal action over top selling video game “Madden NFL 06” after the owner of games developer Virtual Jam accused the games publisher of stealing one of his ideas and using it in the American Football video game, according to Reuters.

Virtual Jam boss Pernell Harris filed suit in San Mateo Superior Court on 28th November, alleging that he met with Electronic Arts two years ago, and discussed his idea for a game in which users take control of a young football player, choose his parents, guide his career and make lifestyle choices for him, reports Reuters.

Madden NFL 06, released in August, includes a “Superstar mode” which allows players to create their own NFL athlete and control his career.

A spokeswoman from Electronic Arts has denied the claims.
