Four parties shortlisted for Brent Cross Cricklewood scheme

The London Borough of Barnet has named the four companies and consortia on its shortlist for choosing a joint venture partner for the redevelopment of north London's Brent Cross Cricklewood.

Capital and Counties Properties PLC; Argent (Property Development) Services LLP and Related Companies LP; Barratts and London & Quadrant Housing Trust; and Far East Consortium International Limited with Countryside Properties PLC, Notting Hill Housing Trust and Southern Grove have been shortlisted following expressions of interest from six parties.

The plans for the 95 hectare site include the redevelopment of Brent Cross Shopping Centre and 7,500 new homes.

“I am delighted that we have been able to take forward an outstanding shortlist," said Council leader Richard Cornelius in a statement. "There are very few companies in the world that can operate at this scale, and we have very high expectations of our future partner."

“Our ambition is to create a place where owner occupiers live next to those who rent, with the doctors, schools and services they need, and with a wide range of employment opportunities. This is an important step in creating a place of which we can all be proud,” Cornelius said.

The shortlisted parties will be required to submit their proposals by 29 January 2015. The Council said it expects to announce its preferred bidder in March 2015.
