Fulham Riverside Proposals halted by Super-Sewer

Plans for the £250 million Fulham Riverside West development have been halted by Thames Water, which is finalising a deal to buy the site for its £4 billion super-sewer project.

It is understood that it has paid approximately £50 million for the site on which the proposed 475 dwelling residential development was planned.

Hammersmith and Fulham has long opposed the proposed super-sewer and has resolved to grant planning permission for the site despite a safeguarding direction issued by the Department for Communities and Local Government, which prevented the Council from authorising development without its approval.  The Council has confirmed that it is taking advice on its next steps.
