Galliard submits detailed plans for Millharbour Village scheme

Developer Galliard Homes has submitted detailed plans to Tower Hamlets Council for two sites within its proposed Millharbour Village development on the Isle of Dogs in East London.

The proposals for 3 Millharbour and 6, 7 and 8 South Quay include 1,500 new homes in residential towers rising up to 45 storeys above ground level. The planned homes would be in a mix of units with between one and four bedrooms. Affordable housing provision of 325 homes has been proposed.

The homes would be arranged in four new buildings under the scheme, with flats housed within the upper storeys and a mix of cafes, bars, and leisure and arts spaces at ground floor level.

The scheme includes two new public parks, to be known as Millharbour West Park and Millharbour East Park, a new state run primary school and the relocation of an existing Montessori school to improved new premises.

Underground car parking for 387 vehicles has also been proposed.

The developer said that the neighbouring site of 2 Millharbour would be the subject of a separate application.
