The portfolio lists 29 sites available for investment including Clarendon Square in Wood Green, a 1.29ha site adjacent to Hornsey Town Hall; St Luke's Woodside Hospital in Muswell Hill; St Ann's Hospital in Tottenham; Apex House on Seven Sisters Road; Hale Wharf in Tottenham; Alexandra Palace, and Tottenham Hale Interchange. Most of the sites are suggested for residential or mixed-use schemes.
The Council has said it is working with investors and developers to deliver exciting and innovative schemes in the borough. The Council has a dedicated major projects team, flexible planning policies and a comprehensive pre-application service for developers, it said.
“We are determined to forge strong relationships with investors who can match our long-term ambitions to transform Haringey, and we will do all we can to bring forward high quality development," said Council leader Claire Kober.
“Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work, with great transport links and open space. With many significant development sites ready to go and a dedicated major projects team at the council, we’re looking forward to building on the progress already made and to delivering real improvement over the coming months and years,” she said.
Head of the Civil Service and Permanent Secretary of the DCLG, Sir Bob Kerslake spoke at an event held by the Council to present the portfolio and said he was “struck by the scale of opportunity” in Haringey and underlined the Government’s commitment to supporting the council’s ambitions.
The Council said it was "geared up to support and encourage development". Together with the Greater London Authority it has invested over £40 million in Tottenham alone and more than £8m is being invested in Green Lanes, Wood Green and Muswell Hill to ensure these centres "continue to flourish as business and residential locations", it said.
