Business networking company LinkedIn is close to securing a new headquarters towards the eastern end of Oxford Street, Property Week has reported .

The company currently occupies less than 10,000 sq ft in Derwent London's Charlotte Building, but is looking to expand by relocating to Axa Real Estate's Castlewood House at 77-91 New Oxford Street, the report said. This would provide 50,000 sq ft of office space.

LinkedIn will pay around £45 per sq ft on a lease of five years as a starting agreement and it has been advised by DTZ.

The eastern end of Oxford Street is becoming increasingly popular with creative and digital sector companies. Google took 160,000 sq ft last year at Central Saint Giles and Property Week has also reported that Saatchi and Saatchi is close to placing 2-10 Bloomsbury Way under offer.
