Moylan will replace Baroness Margaret Ford, who will step down at the end of October. He will lead the promotion and delivery of the physical, social, economic and environmental regeneration of the Olympic Park and surrounding area.
The LLDC will be a "single point of contact" for all groups involved in the regeneration, including landowners, developers, planning authorities and investors, the Government said.
Baroness Ford has overseen the transition from the LLDC predecessor, the Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC), to the new organisation and will continue to be responsible for completing some outstanding goals of the OPLC, such as securing tenants for some remaining Olympic venues.
“Investing in London’s infrastructure, modernising our Tube network and making services more reliable not only eases Londoners’ daily commute but is key to London’s future prosperity," said Boris Johnson. "The new appointments will play a key role in my top priority of ensuring London is a magnet for jobs and economic growth."
The Mayor has re-appointed Isabel Dedring as Deputy Mayor for Transport and has also proposed her as Deputy Chair of Transport for London.
Dedring will oversee the planned upgrades to the London Underground and the construction of Crossrail and will be tasked with reducing delays on the tube by 30% by 2015, the Government said.
“I am thrilled that the Mayor has asked me to take forward an agenda that will deliver millions of pounds of investment, help create thousands of jobs and make the improvements to the capital’s transport system that Londoners deserve.” Dedring said.
