Rutland County Council has published its community infrastructure levy (CIL) draft charging schedule (DCS) (8-page / 113KB PDF) for consultation, setting out its proposed rates for the levy.

The Council has proposed that all chargeable developments within its administrative area will be subject to flat rates which will apply across the county.

The proposed rate for residential developments is £100 per square metre and for distribution developments the rate is set at £10 per sq m.

For food retail supermarkets the Council has proposed that all such developments should be subject to a rate of £150 per sq m and for retail warehouses the rate is set at £75 sq m.

All other development, including sheltered housing and extra care housing, will be subject to a nil rate levy under the proposals.

The consultation will be open until 27 March. The Council said it aims to adopt CIL by January 2016.
