St Modwen purchased the site, which comprises two parcels of land of a total of approximately 17 acres, from Granite Real Estate Ltd in December last year. It plans to build 40 homes on one of the areas of land and 150 homes on the other. The developer held a public consultation on its proposals in May.
“Our proposed residential development in Eastwood will contribute positively to the existing mix of homes in Eastwood, which has been identified as a key growth area," said St Modwen senior residential development surveyor David Dodge, according to local reports.
“Regeneration of former brownfield land, such as at Newmanleys Road, is a key part of the emerging Greater Nottingham Aligned Core Strategy and this development helps to remove pressure on greenbelt sites whilst supporting the delivery of new homes that are very much required in the local area. Our proposals will also support up to 285 jobs on site and in the construction supply chain during the delivery phase of the new development," Dodge said.
