St Modwen submits plans for 485-home South Derbyshire scheme

Developer and regeneration specialist St Modwen has lodged a planning application to South Derbyshire District Council for a mixed-use redevelopment of a former Ministry of Defence site in Hilton.

As well as up to 485 new homes, the proposals include the construction of a new primary school as well as shops and healthcare facilities.

The application follows a public consultation on the plans last year, which St Modwen planning manager Richard Hickman said in a statement was "well attended" and provided some "interesting comments.

“We are pleased to have submitted an outline planning application for the redevelopment of the former MoD site at Hilton, into a mixed use environment, following what was a well-received public consultation event. The project will be undertaken in phases with a lifespan of approximately 10 years until completion,” said Hickman.
