Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey has been selected as the preferred bidder to redevelop the former headquarters of the Staffordshire Police, in Stafford. The housebuilder was chosen by the Staffordshire Police Authority, which was advised by Colliers International.

Taylor Wimpey's redevelopment of the 16 acre site is planned to include the building of 180 family homes. Stafford Borough Council granted planning permission for the site in 2009.

The due diligence process is currently taking place, and the sale to Taylor Wimpey is expected to be finalised shortly.

Staffordshire Police moved from Cannock Road, their former headquarters, to purpose-built headquarters in Weston Road, Stafford, in February 2010.
