  • Successfully acted for Evgen Pharma Plc, a clinical stage drug development company developing sulforaphane based medicines for the treatment of multiple diseases, who have completed a $160 million licensing deal for the global rights of lead asset, SFX-01, in neurodevelopmental disorders and schizophrenia to Stalicla SA.

  • Advised the UK government on its contracts for the purchase of significant volumes of two novel, Covid-19 specific, antivirals. The two antivirals have been developed by MSD and Pfizer. MSD’s antiviral - Molnupiravir - has been shown to cut hospitalisation rates of Covid-19 patients by nearly half.

  • Advised the UK government on an agreement to purchase an additional 60m doses of the Pfizer BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine for the autumn revaccination programme.

  • Advised English biotech company OXGENE (Oxford Genetics and its shareholders including Mercia Asset Management, Invesco and Canaccord) on the sale of OXGENE to WuXi for an undisclosed sum. OXGENE was founded in 2011 and specialises in the discovery and biomanufacture of cell and gene therapy technologies.

  • Advised AIM-listed Evgen Pharma plc, a clinical stage drug development company, on a placing and open offer, to raise £11 million.

  • Advised Teva Pharmaceuticals’ subsidiary, Actavis Group PTC, on the successful €84m sale of a suite of consumer healthcare products to Karo Pharma AB (Karo). The transaction transfers ownership of the brand portfolio, comprised of Flux®, Decubal®, Lactocare®, Apobase®, Dailycare® and Fludent® from Teva to Karo. The acquisition is a pure asset deal.

  • Advised Paion AG, a specialty pharma company, on their exclusive licensing agreement with La Jolla Pharmaceutical for commercialisation of Giapreze™ (Angiotensin II) and Xerava ™ (Eravacycline) in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland.

  • Advised Imcyse, a clinical stage biotech company, on its licensing deal with Pfizer Inc for the use of some of Imcyse’s novel Imotopes in the field of rheumatoid arthritis. Potential milestones payments to Imcyse are under the agreement to total $180m.

  • Advised the UK government on its agreement with Pfizer and BioNTech for the supply of a vaccine against COVID-19. The Pfizer BioNTech vaccine was the first approved for use in the world and is seen as a key weapon in the fight against Covid

  • Advising Evgen on the licensing of its sulforaphane stabilisation technology in a number of non-pharmaceutical applications to Juvenescence Ltd. In particular, Juvenescence intends to market and sell a high-end nutritional health product containing a defined dose of sulforaphane extracted from natural sources. Under the terms of the license agreement, Evgen will receive milestone and option payments of up to $10.5m and also receive royalties on future product sales.
