Hayden's experience

  • Advised the Green Purposes Company, a UK government-backed trust, on the review of investment activities of Macquarie’s Green Investment Group, to support annual reporting obligations.

  • Advised a European infrastructure investment fund, on sustainability / ESG due diligence for a prospective investment in a French fibre network operator.

  • Supported a UK-based infrastructure investment fund manager by providing inhouse sustainability resource via engaging a dedicated expert from the Climate and Sustainability Consulting team, as “Head of Sustainability” function.

  • Advised a European infrastructure investment fund, on sustainability / ESG due diligence for a prospective investment in a tramline PPP project, assessing the target’s alignment with the client’s ESG policy and sustainability processes.

  • Advised an infrastructure investor with a single asset fund invested in battery energy storage on classifying the fund as Article 9 under SFDR. Assisted in drafting the SFDR pre-contractual and website disclosures while ensuring their investment processes aligned with Article 9 requirements.

  • Supported a UK asset manager to launch an evergreen environmental-focused fund. Specifically, our client engaged us to draft all relevant fund formation documents required for fund authorisation, ensuring all relevant sustainability requirements and characteristics according to the UK SDR of the fund were integrated into these documents. 

  • Supporting a client with CSRD implementation by carrying out a double materiality assessment and documenting the process to prepare the client for limited assurance requirements.

  • Advised on key considerations to guide the development of the TPR’s Climate Change and Sustainability Strategy, taking into account UK’s Green Finance Strategy (GFS), TPR’s Corporate Plan (2023 to 2024) and existing Climate Change Strategy, the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) and Bank of England’s strategic response to climate and sustainability.

  • Advised a real estate company based in the Middle East with pre-IPO advice comprising the development of a diagnostic review, sustainability policies, processes, and ESG rating support.

  • Advised a private equity-owned global infrastructure fund in the development of an integrated ESG framework and investment policy to regulatory and global good practice standards.
