Before joining the legal profession, Hinson was a quantity surveyor for both developers and contractors.After being admitted as solicitor, Hinson acted in major infrastructure disputes concerning non-possession of site, ground conditions, loss of profit, and liaised with various experts (quantum, programming, geotechnical and diaphragm walling). He has also advised major local building contractors in disputes with the Government concerning non-possession of site, variation orders, extension of time claims, and other claims based on contractual interpretation.Hinson regularly acts for various international/ local contractors in their health and safety prosecutions, and advising contractors in accident investigations, attending (as advocate) interlocutory hearings, and liaising with Counsel in defending the subsequent legal proceedings. He has handled large and complex health and safety cases and is experienced in advising clients how to handle on the relevant statutory enforcement departments, such as the Labour Department and the Environmental Protection Department.
