Jonathan's experience

  • Advised RATP Dev in relation to its contract with BYD for the provision of electric buses for its bus operations in London and financing work in relation to their electric vehicle bus fleets.

  • Advising the Vinci and Balfour Beatty consortium in relation to its successful bid to be appointed principal contractor in relation to the multi-billion £ N1 and N2 civil engineering packages on HS2 in the UK, using a heavily amended form of the NEC Option C ECC, with associated KPI and ECI drafting; also advising the same consortium (with Systra Limited) in relation to the complex Old Oak Common package, using an NEC Option F form of contract management

  • Jon has been appointed by Kier Group in relation to their successful bid to Highways England in relation to the multi-billion pound Regional Delivery Partner framework, based upon a mixture of bespoke frameworks and NEC4 Option C ECC documentation, utilising an innovative range of ECI and X22 KPI incentives

  • Advising the procurer in a major Turkish bridge PPP on the procurement of long-term O&M contractor.

  • Advising client in relation to its military aircraft programme.

  • Jon has been appointed by the Morgan Sindall/BAM Nuttall consortium in relation to the London Power Tunnels programme to extend capacity within the capital, being procured by National Grid using a bespoked form of NEC4 Option C contracts and associated documentation.

  • Advised Amey in relation to its successful bids in respect of a number of streetlighting PFIs (Manchester, Wakefield, Walsall and Norfolk) and the DBFOM 1 Project in Northern Ireland. Advice included helping Amey develop its multi-project bid strategy, individual procurement approaches, negotiation with procuring authorities, lenders and supply chain. Subsequent to close Pinsent Masons' advice has been included on refinancing and technologically driven changes to the various suites of project documentation.

  • Advised Kier plc during its acquisition of the Mouchel construction and advisory business. Advice included leading the due diligence team considering the Mouchel portfolio which encompassed PFI contracts, framework contracts, professional service agreements and construction management arrangements in the UK, Middle East and Australia. Subsequently advised on disposals of the portfolio including advice on transitional services arrangements and bid agreements.

  • Advised the successful Vinci Concessions team in its bid to be appointed Concession Co for the London Stadium in the Olympic Park, Stratford. This included negotiating and helping to finalise the concession contract and associated ancillary documentation including incorporation of agreements with West Ham United, UK Athletics and local stakeholders, concessionaires, maintenance contractors, security operators and catering suppliers.

  • Advised the Carillion-KBR JVs in relation to the £1.1 billion Army Basing Programme which closed in October 2016.
