Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has advised Royal London Asset Management Property on its acquisition of Fradley Park, a major industrial estate in Lichfield, West Midlands, in a £197 million off-market transaction.

Fradley Park will be the largest industrial asset in the fund’s portfolio and comprises approximately 1.65 million sq ft of high-quality industrial units across a 173-acre site. The estate is currently occupied by leading logistics and manufacturing names including DHL, Geodis, Hawkins Logistics, Palletways and Faurecia, and benefits from being strategically located at the heart of the UK’s motorway network with a workforce of more than one million people within a 30 minute drive time.

The dedicated Pinsent Masons team was led by Janet Matthews, Legal Director and Laura Shott, Senior Associate in the Property Development & Investment team working closely with Pinsent Masons Planning, Construction and Tax teams.

Commenting on the deal, Janet Matthews said: “This acquisition represents a substantial investment for Royal London Asset Management Property and we are proud to have supported them in securing such a significant asset. Our ability to bring together specialist expertise across our Real Estate team demonstrates the strength of our integrated approach and our commitment to helping clients achieve their long-term strategic objectives in a competitive market.”

Richard Lloyd, Property Development & Investment Partner and co-lead of the relationship with Royal London Asset Management Property commented: “This acquisition is the latest in a series of complex, high-value, strategic acquisitions that Pinsent Masons’ Real Estate team has helped to support as part of its longstanding panel relationship with Royal London Asset Management Property, and builds on recent transactions including the purchase of development land at Enderby in Leicester and redevelopment land at Brackmills, Northampton.”
