International law firm Pinsent Masons is bolstering its Corporate team with the appointment of corporate partner and TMT specialist, Andrew McMillan to its Advanced Manufacturing and Technology (AMT) sector.

Andrew joins from Simmons & Simmons where he led the TMT practice from 2012 to 2015, and was previously head of the Communications practice at Ashurst.

He has a wealth of experience in advising TMT corporates, investment banks and private equity houses on in-sector mergers and acquisitions and high-value commercial contracts.

During a period in which the European M&A market looks set for a steep incline, Andrew's appointment sees the expansion of the firms' international tech M&A team comprised of lawyers from offices across the UK, Germany and Asia.

Andrew Hornigold, corporate partner and head of client relationships for the firm'sAdvanced Manufacturing & Technology sector says:

"From macro Government economic strategy placing an emphasis on hi-tech industries to industry research findings on volume and value of M&A and Private Equity funding, all evidence points to growth in the corporate space in TMT over the foreseeable future. Andrew's specialist sector knowledge and depth of expertise pairs well with the strength of our existing team, fortifying our presence in this dynamic market."

David Isaac, head of Advanced Manufacturing and Technology at Pinsent Masons added:

"Andrew's appointment is another representation of our strategic focus on becoming international market leaders in our global sectors. We’re delighted to welcome him to the team."

Andrew's hire follows a string of recent investment into Pinsent Masons' AMT sector, including the appointment of a four-lawyer team in Munich from Mayrhofer & Partner, UK telecoms head Reg Dhanjal, life sciences IP partner Marc Holtorf and technology disputes specialist Sibylle Schumacher.
