This includes advising on offshore wind farm projects, beginning in 2007 with London Array (for the project owners including E.ON and Ørsted) to, most recently, Awel Y Môr and Triton Knoll (for the shareholders including RWE Renewables).
In addition, for many years Melanie has been a regular speaker at energy conferences in the UK, Europe and Asia, working with colleagues across the globe to help clients working in the energy sector navigate the issues and opportunities arising from the energy transition. Melanie replaces Paul Rice, who has stepped into a new senior leadership role leading the firm's climate change mitigation and sustainability platform.
Richard Foley, senior partner at Pinsent Masons said, "The energy sector is experiencing a renaissance with new technologies becoming increasingly cost-effective and net zero being on every boardroom and political agenda. That Melanie and Paul have worked closely together for so many years gives me huge confidence as we look forward. "
Melanie Grimmitt, global head of energy at Pinsent Masons said, "The energy sector is no stranger to disruption which brings overwhelming opportunities, as well as challenges. We're at the forefront of this working hand-in-hand with clients to ensure they have the right structures, services, technologies and capabilities to meet commercial objectives and create long-term value.
