24 Jul 2023 | 09:40 am | 1 min. read

Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has hired funds partner Benoît Rose who will be joining the Luxembourg office on 16 August, as head of its funds practice.

Benoît’s appointment comes shortly after the arrival of partner Dr. Jan Saalfrank, who joined the firm in February and senior associate Lissie Goldbach in May.

Benoît’s professional expertise is focused on fund structuring for traditional and alternative assets including private equity, real estate, debt and infrastructure. The work he performs is multi-jurisdictional supporting clients notably in Luxembourg, France and the United Kingdom, advising managers and service providers in relation to products, business efficiency improvement and distribution. Furthermore, Benoît provides regulatory advice, such as support on licensing for asset managers and fund administrators.

Benoît will be joining from Ogier in Luxembourg, where he has been a partner and co-head of the firm’s funds practice.

Head of Pinsent Masons’ Luxembourg office, Michel Bulach, said: “Luxembourg is leading the European funds market and Benoît’s expertise in alternative, private market investment funds and investment structures fits perfectly with the needs from clients in this area. He is a fantastic addition to our international funds team.”

Benoît’s appointment follows recent lateral partner hires in the financial services sector with Lisa Carty in Dublin, Andy Wright and Tom McHugh in Leeds, and José Millán Martin in Madrid.

Commenting on his appointment, Benoît said: “It’s an incredibly exciting opportunity for me to take part in the development of a funds practice in Luxembourg and to have a role to play in the expansion of the firm’s European funds offering. I look forward to joining the team as from next month and contributing to the wider success of such an innovative and highly regarded firm.”

Since its launch in July 2022, the firm’s Luxembourg team has advised on a number of mandates such as:

  • Advising one of Europe‘s largest fund service platforms with various real estate fund restructuring and refinancing transactions and with fund regulatory advice.
  • Advising a Luxembourg fund regulatory assistance for the setup of a sustainability fund vehicle.
  • Assisting a Czech investor regarding its investments in a Luxembourg AIF.
