Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has appointed pensions partner, Ian Mylrea, to join the firm’s financial services sector in Manchester
Ian advises on all aspects of pensions law with a particular focus on defined benefit schemes, including those sponsored by trade unions and the UK subsidiaries of international corporations.
Head of Pinsent Masons’ Pensions & Long-Term Savings, Stephen Scholefield said: “The pensions market is going through a period of significant consolidation in the UK. Ian is the twentieth partner to the pension team, which highlights our continued growth and commitment to delivering excellent client service across the pensions sector. This strategic hire strengthens the team’s expertise, enhances our capacity to handle complex mandates and reinforces our position as a market leader in pensions law.
Ian joins from Brabners where he was Head of Pensions and follows his team who joined Pinsent Masons earlier in the year.

Ian is the fourth pensions partner to join the firm since 2023, following the hires of Amie Bain in Glasgow, Andy Wright in Leeds and Charlotte Scholes in London.
