Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has appointed Aurélia de Viry as a partner in the firm’s corporate tax team in Paris, effective from 1 September.
Aurélia joins Pinsent Masons from King & Spalding where she became partner in 2014 and singlehandedly set up its tax practice before becoming its team co-head. Before joining King & Spalding, Aurélia spent 11 years with Clifford Chance and six years with CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre.
Aurélia advises clients on all areas of tax law, both domestic and international. Her wide-ranging expertise includes advising on domestic and international transactions and investments, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, intra-group reorganisations, financing transactions, setting up investment funds, and structuring executive compensation. She also represents clients in their dealings with the French tax authorities, in the context of audits, litigation and requests for rulings and approvals.
Specialising in the real estate, finance and energy sectors, Aurélia’s clients range from multinational corporations to investment funds and family offices.
In addition to her client work, Aurélia is a member of several French tax lawyer associations, including the Institut des Avocats Conseils Fiscaux and the Association des Femmes Fiscalistes (A3F), ensuring she has the latest insights on market trends, emerging tax issues and peer strategies.
