The recruitment process for the Accounts Apprenticeship at Pinsent Masons was very different to anything I had experienced before. I submitted an application, undertook some online tests and then attended an assessment centre and interview before finally being offered the apprenticeship. The process was certainly more in-depth than for any other jobs I had applied for. However, I think this reflects the standard of the job and the type of employee that Pinsent Masons are looking for.
After being offered the apprenticeship, I could tell straight away that Pinsent Masons would be a very vibrant and exciting place to work. Our induction took place in the London office. This made made me feel valued by the company straight away, as there was a great deal of expense in getting us to London and hosting us for the day. I am based in the new Birmingham office which is located on Cornwall Street. The building is ‘state-of-the-art’ with great facilities and agile working. This again makes you feel valued by the company as they provide you with your own laptop as well as providing access to catering facilities and break-out areas.
In terms of my colleagues around the office; everyone is happy which I think reflects the company culture and values perfectly. There is a perfect balance of formal working while also being able to go to the social hub and chat informally when making a drink or having lunch. Overall, I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to work for such a well-established law firm which has a fantastic reputation both nationally and internationally. If you are lucky enough to one day to get the opportunity to be a part of this company, take your chance and I’m sure you won’t regret it.
