International law firm Pinsent Masons has appointed Madhu Jain as a Partner in London to strengthen the firm's corporate insurance and pensions de-risking offerings.

Madhu will be advising insurers, pension scheme trustees and other participants on a broad range of transactions including M&A, de-risking and reorganisations. Her appointment marks a significant milestone in the practice's expansion which has grown considerably in the last 18 months – including Hammad Akhtar joining as the Head of Corporate Financial Services, and Matthew Brewer as Legal Director.

Madhu joins from Linklaters where she acted on ground breaking transactions including within the longevity and pensions de-risking market. During her 17 year career at Linklaters, Madhu helped to establish the firm's corporate insurance de-risking practice and to develop many of the structures that are now widely used for de-risking transactions.

Madhu will start 19th November.

Hammad Akhtar, Head of Corporate Financial Services at Pinsent Masons said, "I'm looking forward to welcoming Madhu to the team. Madhu has worked on some of the most complex transactions in the market and brings valuable de-risking and longevity expertise that few in the legal market have. The de-risking market has grown significantly in the last 15 years and Madhu's appointment will help us grow the practice further and support our development."

Madhu said of her appointment, "I'm very much looking forward to joining Pinsent Masons, continuing the great work of the Corporate Financial Services team in corporate insurance and de-risking transactions. I'm excited to join a team that has grown exponentially in such a short period of time. The combination of the firm's impressive client base alongside my experience makes this a great opportunity at a very busy time in the sector."
