About Charles

Charles is a Partner in the International Construction Advisory & Disputes practice at Pinsent Masons LLP London.  He specialises in representing clients in complex dispute resolution procedures and providing strategic project support in connection with major construction, infrastructure and energy projects.  He has extensive experience of the FIDIC and NEC forms of contract and leads the firm’s NEC Hub initiative.

Charles has represented owners and contractors as counsel and advocate in international arbitration proceedings under ICC, LCIA, LMAA, and CIMAR rules and has conducted a number of disputes in the London Technology and Construction Court.  He has also represented clients in alternative forms of dispute resolution including DAB, DAAB, adjudication, mediation, and expert determination.  He has provided real-time advice throughout the project life cycle on a range of energy and infrastructure projects including roads, rail, airports, sports stadia, power generation and supply (including nuclear, offshore wind, solar, power stations, waste-to-energy and pipelines), industrial plants, hotels and commercial premises in the UK, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Central America with a particular focus on Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS States. 

Charles is a member of the Society of Construction Law (UK), Technology and Construction Solicitors’ Association (UK), Young Arbitrator’s Forum (ICC), Young International Arbitration Group (LCIA) and sits as a committee member on the SCL Astra group.
