The impact of COVID-19 on efficiency in international arbitration

The 2020 virtual edition of Paris Arbitration Week will bring together the international arbitration community over a week of academic debates and professional exchanges.

The Queen Mary University of London and Pinsent Masons Survey on Efficiency in International Arbitration was very much debated when its results were released last autumn. Since then the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has forced some changes in the way international arbitrations are conducted. We will look at some of the changes by reference to the topics covered in the survey, in particular, whether efficiency in international arbitration has entered a new age – at the expense of fairness?

Our panel of experts will share their thoughts and experiences after several months of COVID-19 induced changes.
